Sunday Services

Join us every Sunday at 9am or 11am for our weekly gatherings.

It's a time of worship, word, and celebration. Kids have a special service where they learn about Jesus on their own level, and our nursery is available for the little ones too. Youth also have their own gathering after worship during our 2nd service. We hope you can join us!

The Vineyard Church of Baton Rouge is more than just a church for Sundays.  In addition to our weekend services, we have Life Groups throughout the week, and kids ministries on Wednesday nights.  Beyond formal meetings, we're dedicated to the idea of building an authentic community with real-life friendships. When you meet someone on Sunday, bring them to your next movie night or coffee run. Authentic community is fun!

Here is what you can expect during our Sunday morning gatherings:

WORSHIP

In addition to living lifestyles of worship to God, we believe that gathering to worship corporately is a vital part of the Christian life. At the Vineyard Church of Baton Rouge, we want to foster an atmosphere where people can freely express their love for God in worship with the community of believers. So whether you prefer sitting, standing, kneeling or dancing, we hope you feel freedom to to worship in a way that enables you to connect with God. The goal of our worship music is to help create a space for people to experience the presence of God.

The Vineyard style of worship can also be described as non-hype. We love to worship passionately, but we also want to let God be God. We desire authenticity and simplicity in our worship. We're not interested in trying to stir up an extreme response or manufacture some kind of fake spiritual energy during worship. We simply invite the Holy Spirit to be present and reign in our time worship and welcome what He brings.

Communion

At the last supper with his disciples, Jesus broke bread with them and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me'" (Luke 22:19). We take communion together several Sundays a month to remember Christ's sacrifice.  Whether done in a group or as an individual, it is a way to honor Jesus and to remember what He did for us on the cross.

PRAYER MINISTRY TIME

Prayer is an integral part of our faith that allows us to connect with God. God’s spirit works in us through prayer, healing our wounds and changing our lives. We want to stand with you in prayer through the joys and challenges of life. At our gatherings, you’ll find prayer teams ready to pray with you about anything that’s on your heart.

WATER BAPTISM

Baptism is a public expression of one’s faith in God and an outward sign of the Holy Spirit at work inside of us. We offer baptisms during our Sunday services several times each year. If you are interested in being baptized, or just learning more about it, feel free to talk to anyone from the Vineyard staff — we would love to chat with you.

SERVING

When Jesus came, He came to serve.  Having a servant’s heart requires us to move beyond thinking of ourselves to putting others first. Serving can take on any number of forms: volunteering in with the children’s ministry on a Sunday morning, helping a friend move over a weekend, or donating your Thanksgiving dinner to feed the homeless. Whatever it is, be it great or small, there is an undeniable joy in serving others and we encourage you to discover it.  We have many opportunities to serve weekly.  If you'd like to get involved and start serving, send us a message, and we'll contact you soon!

Welcoming the HOLY SPIRIT

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to dwell inside of us and empower us to do God's work here on earth. We believe the Spirit is alive and active today and must be embraced before it can become an integral part of a believer's life.  In order for this to take place one must simply welcome the Spirit into their lives and "practice" responding and walking in that power. We regularly invite and welcome the Holy Spirit to empower us and speak to us in our Sunday gatherings.

loving our children

Our ministry to children at the Vineyard begins in the nursery.  We see our time with infants and toddlers as an opportunity to express the love of Jesus to them every time we hold them, feed them a bottle, and care for their needs.  During their time in the nursery, they will have supervised free play. They'll hear stories and songs about God, and they'll be prayed for by our trained nursery volunteers.

Our main mission in the nursery is to bring babies face to face with Jesus.  Jesus loved kids and valued spending time with them and we want to follow his model the very best we can.  Therefore, we seek to provide a safe and welcoming place where parents feel confident that their children are being cared for and taught with the same love that Jesus has for them.  We gladly accept this responsibility to love on your precious babies.   Our nursery and kids volunteers go through a rigorous application process which includes extensive training and a background check.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide a fun, loving environment for children in which they can learn about the Bible and experience the love of Jesus. We desire to assist parents in laying a solid spiritual foundation of Biblical principles that will guide them throughout their lives. Children are the future, and they will shape the destiny of our world! We believe it is extremely important that we develop a world view of Kingdom Living in our Kids.  We are focused on building and strengthening a real and growing relationship with Christ through relevant and age appropriate biblical teaching and practical life application skills. We encourage you to come visit and spend some time with us. We would love to get to know you and your family!

Vacation Bible School

Children can connect with God and encounter the Holy Spirit the same way adults do. We desire to cultivate an environment that nurtures each child’s personal relationship with God, so that younger generations will grow up passionately in love with their Heavenly Father, with roots that run deep, and a faith that is unswerving. Children will get to worship together, play together and be given consistent opportunities to engage in the service through fun activities and creative interactions.

WHAT DO WE VALUE?

Our primary value in the Vineyard Children’s Church is relationship. We want to do everything we can to draw kids into a genuine relationship with God and with each other – that's where real life-change happens! One way that we effectively do this is by creating an environment that is real, relaxed, safe, relevant, and, of course, fun! We are committed to giving our absolute best, relying on God as the source of everything we need. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Therefore, things like team training, punctuality, preparedness, and attitude are very important to us.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?

Here at the Vineyard, we believe that everyone gets to play. We are all part of what the Bible calls the ‘Body of Christ’. Each of us has been given specific gifts for the purpose of honoring God and blessing others. In the Vineyard Children’s Church, we are in search of people who are living examples of Jesus; people who are "FAST": Faithful, Available, Servant-Hearted, and Teachable. We believe that as we allow God to work in and through us, our lives will have a profound impact on our children, our community, and our future generations. You are invited to serve alongside us in one of the most effective investments your life can make!
